Elvira Family Reunion – Scholarship Eligibility/Requirements (2009 Revised)
The Elvira Family Reunion Scholarship Committee is committed to helping the advancement of family members interested in higher learning. We would like to help each and every young man or woman interested in pursuing an opportunity of a secondary education level reach their desired goals through the support of this program. Our priority is to support the undergraduate applicants and consider post-graduate applicants secondary based upon funding availability.
Ultimately, we understand all applicants may not receive scholarships funding after meeting all applicable eligibility requirements. This occurrence will only arise if sufficient scholarship funding is not available at the time of award.
In order to qualify and meet the eligibility requirements, we believe the following terms and conditions must be met by all participants:
Please note, all recipients will be considered for a one-time award only, no exceptions.
- US Citizen;
- Family member of the Elvira family tree; and
- Regularly attend the annual reunions and support the scholarship fund.
Undergraduate Requirements (Freshman)
- Maintain a 2.0 GPA;
- Receive a signed acceptance letter from prospective secondary education institution;
- intend to remain at institution for the full year scholarship is awarded;
- Provide a written one-page essay of the scholarship benefits; and
- Include written information of family association in Elvira. Identify your relationship to Elvira Family Tree.
Undergraduate Requirements (Sophomore-Senior)
- Provide supporting documentation of academic standing;
- Receive a signed acceptance letter from prospective secondary education institution;
- Intend to remain at institution for the full year scholarship is awarded;
- Include written information of family association in Elvira. Identify your relationship to Elvira Family Tree.
Post-Graduate Requirements (may change based upon Scholarship Available Funding)
- Receive a signed acceptance letter from prospective post-graduate institution;
- Intend to remain at institution for the full year scholarship is awarded; and
- Make efforts to support the family reunion committees by participating and/or financial support.
